BLET Students Donate to Cancer Charity and Food Pantry

Basic Law Enforcement Training students in the day program raised $300 to be donated to LoveLights to assist Cancer Care of WNC in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month in October and Male Cancer Awareness in November.

Marty McNeely, Law Enforcement Training Director and Jeff Augrum, Instructor, permitted the male trainees to observe 鈥渘o-shave November鈥 and female trainees to wear pink hair ribbons or nail polish.

The day and night classes also collected a large number of food items to be donated to A-B Tech鈥檚 food pantry, which took two loads to deliver. 鈥淛eff and I are trying to teach our trainees that we are the sheepdogs, and we take care of the sheep鈥ven when they may not know about it,鈥 McNeely said.
